Lake City is a nice and growing town that is approx. 30 minutes north of Gainesville, Fl. and about 1 and half hours to either the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico. As you can tell by the name of this Town, there are a few Lakes that are located in the City Limits. Lake City is the County Seat for Columbia County.
There are also real good access to a few rivers that are in the area. These rivers are the Ichetucknee, Sante Fe and Suwannee Rivers. Some of this are located in Columbia County and some or in Suwannee County. In the rivers you can boat, swim, tube and fish. There are some neighborhood right next to the rivers that you can buy land in to get river access anytime you like. This neigborhood is called Three River Estates.
Lake City has a mall with Belks, JCPenny, Goody's, Bath and Body Works and other stores. Most of the fast food restaurants are located off the main Lake City exit off of I-75.
If you are loking for a Golf Course, you are in luck too. Lake City has two golf courses. They are Southren Oaks and Quail Heights.
The Columbia High School football team is usually a great team every year. In fact a lot of the residents go to the games on Friday nights, when they are playing. Columbia High Football team is the winning's team in the State.
